As the Algoma Blvd reconstruction project continues, please note that key intersections and pathways through campus are will be disrupted at various stages of the work. The construction crew will continue to shift their signs and access points as they move through the campus project area.

Beginning today, Monday, Aug. 1, damaged irrigation lines will be repaired and concrete will be installed from Algoma Boulevard to High Avenue between Taylor Hall and Blackhawk Commons. Pedestrians should take alternate routes through this area as the walkway will not be available.

From Monday to Wednesday this week, it is anticipated that the intersection of New York Avenue and Algoma will be closed for water main installation. This will impact the flow of traffic on Congress Ave from the Congress Ave bridge to Elmwood Ave so if you’re able to please plan a different route out of campus during this time.

Grading and paving work also begins Monday on Algoma from Vine Avenue to Wisconsin Street, closing this area to through traffic. Utility work on Algoma from Congress Avenue to Vine continues and this stretch also is closed to through traffic.

Installation of temporary pavement at Wisconsin and Algoma has allowed that intersection to be fully open; permanent pavement will be installed at a later date.

High Avenue will continue to accommodate two-way traffic for the duration of the project.

Detours continue for GO Transit bus routes No. 5 and No. 10. Find details in the GO Transit app or on Go Transit’s Facebook page.
