A UW Oshkosh Police Department canine handler invested hundreds of hours into training K9 Skylar to identify explosive materials. He learned along the way that Law Enforcement wasn’t necessarily the career path he wanted to pursue for the rest of his life so UWO Police leaders created a plan that would allow Skylar’s skillset to be utilized in our community until she is ready to retire.

The UWOPD team is excited to have created a partnership with Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office so the services that this program were built on can continue.
