Bike Patrol
In 1995, the University Police department formed the first bicycle patrol unit in Winnebago County. This specialized unit’s objective is to supplement traditional police patrols.
Our bike patrol officers can patrol the campus area effectively due to their ability to go virtually anywhere. Bike patrol officers are approachable, often stopping to answer questions or just to chat.
The UW Oshkosh campus has a very high volume of pedestrian traffic — day and night — and the bike patrol unit enjoys unique advantages in accomplishing our law enforcement mission.
