UW Oshkosh’s mobile app puts campus resources and safety tools in your hands anytime you’ve got your smart phone. The app is available for UW Oshkosh, UW Fond du Lac and UW Fox Cities Here’s some information about app features: 

 

  • Titan Alerts (available when the app is on your phone)
    • Titan Alerts are pushed to the mobile app when they’re sent out. 
    • This is a great feature for community members who aren’t necessarily on-campus regularly.
      • Dining Services employees 
      • Campus guests
        • Sporting Events
        • Tours
        • Construction Workers working on campus
        • Other events
        • Speakers
        • EAA Guests
      • Nearby Community Members
  • Mobile BlueLight (main screen)
    • If you’re in the City of Oshkosh and you push the “Call Now” button within this feature the UW Oshkosh Police dispatch center will receive a notification that someone pressed the mobile BlueLight feature and your location will show up on a virtual map. At the same time a phone call is made to our dispatcher. 
    • If you’re outside the City of Oshkosh and you press the “Call Now” button the Communications Center for that county (via 911) will receive a phone call from your device. 
    • Your phone must have location services on for the mobile app
    • Your phone must also have the capability of dialing and receiving calls
  • Chat w/UWOPD (main screen)
    • This is a real-time chat feature available to people who have the UWO Mobile app downloaded
    • This feature is intended for non-emergency situations
    • If a community members needs to chat discreetly with our department this is an option
    • Request a Safewalk or Saferide, report information anonymously, ask a question and much more!
    • This feature only works when you’re connected to wifi or an active cellular network
  • Virtual Safewalk (main screen)
    • Use this feature to let UW Oshkosh Police Department know where you’re traveling (start and finish) then we’ll walk with you virtually on a map. 
    • This feature gives UW Oshkosh Police your location temporarily (while you’re using this feature). 
    • Engage UW Oshkosh Police if there’s a problem during your walk. 
  • Friend Walk (inside Safety Resources)
    • Use this feature to let a friend know where you’re traveling (start to finish). 
    • A text is sent to contacts in your phone and they can accept and watch you walk or drive from a starting location to where you plan on arriving. 
    • Engage them if something happens during your walk so they can call authorities
  • Emergency Procedures (inside Safety Resources)
    • This function of the app gives you access to tips on how to react during emergency situations as follows:
      • Active Threat
      • Suspicious Packages
      • General Evacuations
      • Evacuating Those in Need
      • Fire Safety Incidents
      • Bomb Threats
      • Severe Weather
      • Hazardous Materials
      • Power Failure
      • Utility Failure
      • Medical Emergencies
  • UW Oshkosh Shuttle and Transit (inside Safety Resources)
    •  Push this button to access the shuttle options available at UW Oshkosh
      • Displays their route and if they’re in operation shows a live feed of where the shuttle. 
      • Push on the drop-off/pick-up areas to see when the shuttle will be at those locations
  • Report Information Anonymously (inside Safety Resources)
    • Bias Incident Reporting
    • Sexual Assault Resources and Reporting Information
    • Report non-emergency information (call us, chat with us,use the in-app report to attach photos)
      • crimes
      • suspicious incidents
      • concerns about a student or employee
      • any other information that you’d like to share
  • Campus Map (inside Campus Resources)
    • Use this interactive map to load information about the following:
