Current UWO Student Application Process

Current UW Oshkosh students who apply to the Project Success program are called walk-in students.

A student will begin the walk-in application process by completing an interview questionnaire with a Project Success staff member. If a student has documentation of a language-based learning disability from high school, they should bring this with them when they meet with a Project Success staff member. UW Oshkosh students are encouraged to visit the Project Success office to discuss the walk-in student application process and procedures. If Project Success is not an appropriate resource for the student, additional resources and options on campus will be discussed and recommended.

If a walk-in student has no prior documentation or documentation that is older than 3 years, the student will be asked to complete an educational evaluation that assesses the areas of reading, comprehension, spelling, writing, and mathematics. Typically, the evaluation will take about 2 hours to complete. The evaluation will then be reviewed by the Director Emeritus to determine eligibility, and an individual meeting will take place to discuss the assessment results along with possible resources and accommodations available to the student.

Please note that the entire process of conducting the evaluation, determining eligibility, and discussing results may take 2-4 weeks, depending on the time during the semester.
