Summer Program To-Do List

Take Your Placement Tests

Placement tests have no bearing on the student’s admissions status into Project Success or the University, but are important to help place students in the most appropriate math and English classes and are necessary for scheduling fall semester courses. Placement tests should be completed at least two weeks prior to the students Titan Takeoff Day date. Students may use a standard calculator (no graphing functions, etc.) on the math portion of the examination.

If you are going to request special accommodations due to your disability, send a letter (on your high school letterhead) from a teacher, counselor, or principal who will describe what accommodations are appropriate for you. Please also include your address and telephone number, which site you wish to test at, as well as your plan to attend University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Project Success Summer Transition Program 2024.

Send this information to:
Tim O’Connor
1025 West Johnson St.
Madison, WI 53706

*Please do not register online if you are requesting non-standard accommodations due to a disability.

However, If you would like to take your placement test at UW Oshkosh please contact Nicole Richter-Smith at (920) 424-1148 to register and to discuss accommodations.

Titan Takeoff Day

What is Titan Takeoff day? Titan Takeoff Day is UW Oshkosh’s way of introducing new students to campus: allowing them to become familiar with buildings, providing pointers as they choose courses, and much more. Your Titan Takeoff Day includes several informational sessions, small group discussions, one-on-one advising, and tours. In the afternoon, you will be putting together your own schedule with the help of Academic Advising and Titan Takeoff Day staff. You will also receive your fall class schedule. Your Titan Takeoff date should be scheduled before summer classes begin on June 17, 2024.

If you have any questions about admissions, please contact Laurie Stevens at stevens@uwosh.edu or (920)424-7384

Register for Your Fall Courses

Each student will register for fall 2024 courses on his or her Titan Takeoff day. On the day that you register, please inform your advisor that you are a member of the Project Success program. During the summer program, we will review your schedule and advise you in making changes if necessary.

Fill out and Return Your Meal Plan Selection Card

You will receive a Summer Program Guide booklet in the mail during the spring. Enclosed in Summer Program Guide will be a meal plan card. Please select the meal plan that will best fit your needs, then fill out and return the card in the envelope provided.

If you have any questions about the Summer Program meal plan, please call Dining Services at (920) 424-2391

Fill out and Return Your Summer Housing Contract
You will receive your room assignment around June 1, 2024 as long as the following steps have been completed by May 11, 2024:
  • Gruenhagen Conference Center has received your signed contract AND full payment (either paid in full or have arranged financial aid) for the summer program.
  • You have completed your 2024-2025 Housing Contract at My housing portal . During this process, you will be asked a series of questions to indicate your living preferences. This will help us match you with the most compatible roommate for the summer program.
If these steps have not been completed by May 11, 2024, you may be assigned a random roommate upon your arrival on June 17, 2024. Please note that while GCC will do their best in making roommate assignments, it is impossible to guarantee 100% compatibility.

If you have any questions about housing, please contact Marc Nylen at (920) 424-1106
Apply for Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for the summer Project Success program.  You are encouraged to begin the financial aid process as early as possible.  In addition to filing the 2023-2024 FAFSA for the academic year, you will need to complete a summer application for financial aid with the Financial Aid Office.  This is available on the Financial Aid website in late April.  The amount of aid available for summer is determined on an individual basis.

Please Note:  Using your financial aid from federal and state sources for the Project Success program will reduce the amount of financial assistance that you have available for the fall and spring semesters. Please contact Ben Wilkes with any questions regarding your financial aid at (920) 424-4447.
