• Associate professor Michael Ford presented “The Rural Nonprofit Sector in Wisconsin: Moving Towards Collective Impact” at the annual ARNOVA nonprofit research conference on November 18th 2023. The project describes how local governments can serve as backbone organizations coordinating nonprofit activities in small and medium-sized Wisconsin communities. The work is funded through a grant from the Tommy G. Thompson Center at UW Madison, and includes contributions from MPA student Renee Christensen and undergraduate Criminal Justice student Max Tully.
  • Associate professor Michael Ford presented “Local Government in Wisconsin: Leadership and Challenges” to Leadership Oshkosh on November 15th 2023. Ford also moderated a panel of local elected officials at the event, continuing the MPA program’s strong connection to community leaders.
  • Professor Anna Filipova presented, “The Role of Community Satisfaction, Organizational Climate and Communication for Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers’ Job Satisfaction and Intent-to-Leave” and “Degree of Utilization of Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers and Its Association with Practice Environment Characteristics and Behavioral Outcomes” at the 21st International Conference on Communication in Healthcare 2023, Oct. 22-25, 2023, Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. The two presentations were based on her recent sabbatical research supported by the UW Oshkosh.
