Checking access campus network equipment to prepare for connection.

- Technical staff are meeting weekly and via web chat to plan transition from central support to receiving institution support by Aug, 22, 2019, in the following areas:

The Network group’s recommendation regarding Wide Area Network connection between access campuses and their receiving institutions has been approved. Implementation should be able to be completed by the end of February 2019.

Next

Review of IT websites on the access campuses to verify they match each other and fit with Oshkosh IT website.
Implementation of Wide Area Network connection.
IT recommendations will be drafted for review by the Restructuring Leaders’ Group before approval by the Chancellor.

Recent (as of 11/28/18)

Receiving institution CIOs met with the College’s CIO and UW System CIO and set the goal of transitioning as much as possible by Aug. 1, 2019.
Fond du Lac and Fox Valley student information has been transferred from PRISM to TitanWeb. Student have been informed of their accounts (NetID and uwosh.edu email) and how to use them to apply for Financial Aid.

Technical staff have been assigned to meet with central College’s and other receiving institution IT staff to begin planning in the following areas:
- Accounts/Email
- Network
- Workstation Management
- Service Desk
- Classroom Support
- Student Printing
- Telephones
- Software Contracts, Licensing
The CIOs will review the subgroup recommendations with the goal of transitioning services as soon as possible, and most no later than Aug. 1, 2019.

Recent (as of 10/9/18)

Technical meetings with College’s IT Services (CITS) regarding email migration. Migration will not happen until the university name is confirmed. The target date is to be done by July 1, 2018.
Received an estimate from DoIT for the cost of having them handle all Tier 1 Help Desk calls for all three campuses.

By Oct. 5, all Fond du Lac and Fox Valley student information will be transferred from PRISM to TitanWeb. Student will also receive an email providing them with their new uwosh.edu email and NetID account information. They will need the NetID to apply for financial aid.
Use the Help Desk cost comparison to make a recommendation that Help Desk services be handled by Oshkosh for all three campuses.

The UW System MOU restricts planning for transition of most IT services until after July 1, 2019, while they work out a new Shared Services model.
