Hansen teaches advertising, public relations and new media courses, and researches in communication of political image-making and social media strategies that relate to important social issues in modern society. She has professional communication experience and a research background in branding on social media, which assist with aligning best practices for online campaigns. She works with Wisconsin organizations as clients for student projects in Application of New and Emerging Media, which has helped with website development and social media promotion for nonprofits with sustainability initiatives, including Growing Oshkosh and the Winnebago County Health Department.
