“The True Cost of Our Food” -Melissa Weyland

Who: Melissa Weyland has worked professionally in the agriculture and food industries for over 12 years. She currently works for CROPP Cooperative/Organic Valley as a Regional Pool Manager and dairy farms with her family. Melissa serves the community as a UW-Extension Master Gardener Volunteer, is on the Oshkosh Food Co-op Board of Directors and serves on the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council. She was recognized as one of the Fox Cities “Future 15” in 2019.
Description: How do our dinner decisions today shape the world we will live in tomorrow? Food plays so many roles: health, community, tradition, and pleasure to name a few. Melissa will cover the ins and out of food labeling, marketing, regulations, and the varying methods used to produce the foods with special emphasis on organic foods
