Health Science Graduate Level Students

Earn up to $1500. 15 seats available. Must commit to 2-year program.

Northeastern WI AHEC has 15 seats available for Health Science-Graduate Level Students
to earn up to $1500 while gaining competencies and experiences to enhance resume applications
through the Wisconsin AHEC Scholars Program.

Program Overview: Wisconsin AHEC Scholars program will broaden your scope of practice and learn
strategies to become a better practitioner while increasing your leadership skills and build your
professional network.

Program Requirements: This is a 2-year program and each year participants must complete:
• 3 of 6 modules from the programs six core topics. To complete this requirement an on-line curriculum
will be provided for each of the modules. If current school curriculum covers a topic students may be
able to test out. Core topics include: (1) Interprofessional Education (IPE), 2) Behavioral Health
Integration, 3) Social Determinants of Health, 4) Cultural Competency, 5) Practice transformation, and
6) Current/Emerging Health Issues.)

• 2 on-line webinars. A menu of webinars will be provided to choose from based on interest and
availability.

• 40 hours of community-based training. These hours may include clinical rotations if within a rural or
underserved area. Through AHEC other opportunities like WI Express, IPE Case Competition, and IPE
workshops can count.

Eligibility:

1) Must be a graduate level student;

2) Enrolled in a health professions degree program;

3) Degree program must be a minimum of two years in length;

4) Applicant must be two years out from
graduation;

5) Applicant must commit to the 2-year Scholars Program.
