UW System Women in Color in Education Award

Lisa Aguello

Lisa Aguello graduated from UW Oshkosh in 2006 with a liberal arts degree—and is now the coordinator for the same PreCollege Programs that once made a major impact on her journey to college.

The PreCollege Programs at UWO are designed to get middle and high school students introduced to higher education and now serve about 180 students each year. Her PreCollege Programs experience as an Omro high schooler her up to attend UWO. And now in her time as coordinator, she’s doubled both the program’s offerings and its number of participants, thanks to innovations like bilingual admission days to better serve the Spanish- and Hmong-speaking students and families. Her work earned her UW System’s Women of Color in Education Award in 2021.
