Angela Subulwa

Angela Subulwa is the director of the international studies program and an associate professor of geography. As an instructor, she pushes students to make critical connections between their lives and global patterns, networks, complexities and inequities.

As co-advisor for the UW Oshkosh Model United Nations team, Subulwa helps students build their research, speaking, writing and leadership skills to reach consensus on some of the planet’s most pressing challenges. Her research, which focuses on the critical geopolitics of displacement, with a regional focus in southern and eastern Africa, informs her teaching and advising. Outside the classroom, Subulwa is the co-founder of SEPO Zambia, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability, education and progress in western Zambia and northeastern Wisconsin.
