Contracts
The Office of Sponsored Programs is a service-oriented team that is available to assist faculty and staff with all of their sponsored contract needs. Sponsored contracts, also known as research contracts, detail the obligation of two or more parties over the course of the project. These contracts typically include specific deliverables and consist of specific award terms and conditions that govern performance of the project. Sponsored contracts may include projects in research, instruction, public service or outreach. Sponsored contracts differ from Fee-for-Service contracts or Purchase Orders which are administered by UW Oshkosh Procurement office.
The Office of Sponsored Programs is responsible for administering all sponsored contractual activity on the UW Oshkosh campus following the Code of Federal Regulations (2 C.F.R. 200), also known as the Uniform Guidance. In addition, any sponsor-driven guidelines and University policy and procedure are followed to ensure you the most success in your funding pursuits.
See the table below for a complete categorization of how sponsored contracts are defined and how they differ from other funding mechanisms, such as grants. By definition, a sponsored or “research” contract is a “Funding mechanism that involves the procurement of goods and services by one party or parties and the rendering of services by the other party/parties.” These contracts include specific deliverables and milestones and will outline how the contracting parties will interact with each other.
