Meet our student assistants and communications intern

Our Student Assistants and Communications Intern support our program in various ways from creating engaging social media posts, gathering data, setting up events, providing a student voice, and much more. They work on different projects throughout the year and develop their professional and leadership skills.

I am a fourth-year student at UW Oshkosh majoring in English Liberal Arts and minoring in Creative Writing. I am excited to be working as the TRIO SSS Communications Intern!

When I am not working or busy studying classic literature, I enjoy listening to true crime podcasts, drinking iced chai tea lattes, and spending time with my friends.

Elizabeth Beine (she/her)

Communication Intern

I am an Interactive Web Management major with an African American Studies minor and Global Scholars Certificate. I have many aspirations in life including teaching English in Japan or working with TRIO. My main one is becoming an International Marketer with a focus on Japan and Japanese culture.

I would also love to work remotely so I could travel and still have a job. I am guilty of watching the How to Train Your Dragon franchise at least a million times. Jurassic Park is 100% a horror movie but I still cannot stop watching it. I also love dogs and have raised around 12 of them. My hobbies are sleeping and trying to become a decent student.

Karen Ruiz (she/her)

Student Assistant

My name is Raine Nealy and I am an education major in my first year. I want to teach at the high school level, potentially in a bigger city like Milwaukee. My two favorite hobbies are rock climbing and reading.

Student Assistant

Hi, my name is Maddy, my pronouns are She/Her. I am a Human Service Leadership major with a Studio Art Minor. I am in my second semester of my second year. After graduation I am planning on earning my teaching certificate and looking into graduate school. I am thinking about pursuing art therapy at graduate school. I have also considered earning my Child Life Specialist Certificate after graduation.

Some fun facts about myself, I love cats, you can usually find me wearing a snazzy pair of crocs, and I love being crafty in my free time

Maddy Blazer (she/her)

Student Assistant

I’m currently a third year here at UW-Oshkosh majoring in Radio-Tv-Film with a minor in African American Studies. I enjoy being in this position because I have the chance to work with many great people and being able to learn or establish more skills for my future career!

When I’m not working or studying, I am busy building Legos, out with friends, eating or watching my favorite shows.

Student Assistant
