Multicultural Retention Programs
The UW Oshkosh Multicultural Retention Programs (MRP) provides academic and multicultural counseling, academic coaching, academic progress monitoring, and academic intervention. We offer a variety of programs and services for student retention and graduation.
The MRP staff works closely with faculty, staff, and community members who are interested in improving cross-cultural relations, academic support, and understanding cultural differences.
Why the Multicultural Retention Programs at UWO?
The MRP exists to help students improve educational achievement by bringing retention and graduation rates for diverse students in line with those of the student body as a whole. This is accomplished by offering multi-faceted culturally and academically responsive programs and services to effectively serve diverse students.
MRP staff also works closely with multicultural student organizations throughout the academic year. With the guidance and assistance of MRP staff, student organizations engage in leadership development, socio-cultural events, educational, and academic support programs to help increase the level of cultural understanding and retention/graduation of multicultural students.
