Term Withdrawal, Late Drop/Withdrawal, & Cancellation Process

Refunds for Drops/Withdrawals

Drop and withdrawal deadlines are different than the refund schedule. Please consult the Student Financial Services website for specific refund deadlines

 

Withdrawal & Related Definitions

Cancellation of Future Term Form – This form will be used if a student is cancelling their enrollment or their admission to UW Oshkosh before the Term/Semester begins.

Non-Medical Drop/Term Withdrawal – This form should be used if a student is attempting to drop ALL of their classes OR one or more classes or all their classes AFTER the Drop Deadline (Add-Drop Calendar Deadlines). If they are dropping classes AFTER the Drop Deadline for the term, they will need to upload documentation from a 3rd party describing extenuating circumstances requiring the drop (ex. Work schedule, doctor note, etc).  

Drop: occurs when a student removes themselves from one or more courses but remains enrolled in one or more courses. Students can drop courses themselves through TitanWeb before the session’s drop deadline. Learn how to drop a course here.

CANCELLATION OF FUTURE TERM FORM:

This form will be used if a student is cancelling their enrollment or their admission to UW Oshkosh before the Term/Semester begins.

NON-MEDICAL DROP/TERM WITHDRAWAL:

This form should be used if a student is attempting to drop ALL of their classes OR one or more classes or all their classes AFTER the Drop Deadline (Add-Drop Calendar Deadlines).

If you are dropping classes AFTER the Drop Deadline for the term, you will need to upload documentation from a 3rd party describing extenuating circumstances requiring the drop (ex. Work schedule, doctor note, etc). 

After submitting a withdrawal or cancellation form, students will receive information about next steps via email. Withdrawal and cancellation forms are processed by the Registrar’s Office. Students can contact withdraw@uwosh.edu with any questions about the process.

MEDICAL LATE DROP/LATE WITHDRAWAL FORM:

This form will be used for the following:

  • A medical emergency
  • A family emergency
  • A mental health emergency resulting in counseling or other professional help before
    the appeal
  • A severe personal circumstance that impacted the student’s ability to be academically
    successful

Medical/Late Withdrawal applications must be accompanied by supporting documentation to substantiate the request. The full UWO Medical Withdrawal Policy, along with the tuition refund schedule, can be found here.

MEDICAL LATE DROPS WILL BE ACCEPTED NO LATER THAN THE LAST DAY OF THE COURSE DURING CURRENT SEMESTER BY 4:30PM THAT DAY. 

MEDICAL LATE WITHDRAWALS ARE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO WITHDRAW FROM ALL COURSES WITHIN THE CURRENT OR PREVIOUS SEMESTER AND WILL BE ACCEPTED NO LATER THAN 1 CALENDAR YEAR FOLLOWING THE END OF THE ACADEMIC TERM.
