The UWO Theatre Department offers two main spaces that hold performances and productions each year.
The Fredric March Theatre is a 500-seat proscenium theatre. It has a computerized lighting control system, elevator equipped fore-stage and a fully functional fly system.
Support facilities include nearby scenery and costume construction areas, prop and costume storage and a sound/light control booth. There are also two makeup rooms and private dressing rooms within.
Four main-stage productions are presented in the Fredric March each year.
The Experimental Theatre is a flexible seating “black box” theatre. In addition to sharing many support facilities with the Fredric March Theatre, the Experimental Theatre has its own separate lighting and sound control systems and its own lighting instruments
Several student-directed studio productions are presented in this space each year. Occasionally, a main-stage season production is mounted here to take advantage of the intimacy of the audience-actor relationship and its non-traditional staging techniques.
