In a few weeks, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Jazz Ensemble is taking its show on the road―making stops at six Milwaukee-area high schools.

The performance and recruiting tour, done annually pre-COVID, is returning March 31 and April 1.

UWO’s 18-piece big band, led by Marty Robinson, professor of trumpet and jazz, is the only touring UWO music ensemble.

“We’re glad to start doing this again this spring,” Robinson said. “We will be performing for high school students (with audiences ranging from 30 to 300), working side-by-side with our hosting school and their students and offering workshops for all performers while also helping to spread UWO good vibes around the state.”

A special feature of the tour will be an evening concert performance at Oak Creek High School at their new theatre/auditorium. The concert event is open to the public.
