The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Fond du Lac campus community should be aware that road construction is expected to close a main Fond du Lac thoroughfare for five days beginning late next week.

Concrete paving operations will necessitate closure of Highway 23/Johnson Street in both directions in the vicinity of Pioneer Road (the frontage road east of Highway 41) and in front of the former Forest Mall property.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Northeast Region is warning motorists to plan ahead for the critical road closure on the western part of the city, beginning at 5 a.m. Thursday, July 21. The roadway is expected to be closed through midnight, Tuesday, July 26.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 23 can detour by traveling I-41 southbound to Highway 151 northbound and connecting at Highway 23.

Westbound traffic on Highway 23 can detour by taking Highway 151 southbound to I-41 northbound and connecting at Highway 23.
