The leaders of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and Moraine Park Technical College signed an articulation agreement Aug. 12 that eases the way for students pursuing associate liberal arts degrees to transfer from Moraine Park to UWO with confirmed junior status.

Moraine Park will offer associate liberal arts degrees beginning this fall.

At the signing on Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus, Chancellor Andy Leavitt said the new liberal arts transfer agreement “demystifies” the transition from the technical college to UWO for students who want to complete a bachelor’s degree in as little as four years.

β€œIt is another example of our long-term and ongoing partnership with the Wisconsin Technical College System, the Northeast Wisconsin Educational Resource Alliance (NEW ERA) and MPTC. In effect, it strengthens our relationship with MPTC and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to enhancing opportunities and access to higher education for citizens of northeast Wisconsin and, specifically, those in Fond du Lac.”

Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald said the two higher education institutions can accomplish a lot when they team up. She noted that the agreement opens the way for Moraine Park students to attain “the next opportunity”… a bachelor’s degree.
