The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh announces the Titan Thunder Marching Band annual giving campaign—an initiative created to help the newly launched band march forward in its initial year.

The campaign provides an opportunity for the Titan community to play a role in creating a sustainable future for Titan Thunder Marching Band students.

Joe Scheivert

“The call to start a marching band at UW Oshkosh is both an amazing adventure and an enormous undertaking,” said Joe Scheivert, director of athletics bands. “In addition to providing entertaining and impressive performances on the field, our top goals for the program are to cultivate a culture of excellence, care and respect among its members; provide substantial leadership opportunities; and create an unrivaled student experience. Donor support is critical to the success of our group.”

Donor generosity can be given to two different fund opportunities:

Titan Thunder Scholarship Fund: Member of the UWO Athletics Bands will commit more than 250 hours of hard work and passion each season to create a band to showcase Titan pride. Band scholarships demonstrate pride in these young leaders in recognition for their dedication. The Titan Thunder Scholarship Fund also will help in recruiting top-notch musicians interested in becoming part of the program.

Titan Thunder Operational Fund: The Titan Thunder Marching Band is on a path to become one of the finest in the state, and it looks forward to supporting the Titans and the Oshkosh community. Gifts to the Titan Thunder Operational Fund will assist in purchasing the best equipment, along with music and other operational expenses. It also will allow the Titan Thunder and Bolt Band, the University’s new pep band, to travel.

“Contributions help recognize the commitment of time and energy that our students make to UWO in the form of band-wide scholarships; meals during preseason camp, game day and trips; the ability to bring nationally recognized clinicians to campus to work with our student leaders; and community-building activities during the season,” Schievert said.

There are six different donor levels to: Friend (less than $499), Black and Gold Partner ($500), Musician’s Circle ($1,000), Section Leader ($2,000), Drum Major ($5,000) and Director’s Circle ($7,500).
