Tommy Thompson

Learning in Retirement (LIR) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites the community to an appearance by former Gov. Tommy Thompson on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the  Culver Family Welcome Center. He will speak from 1:30 to 3 p.m., about his many years of public service.

Thompson has devoted his career to serving the people of Wisconsin and his country. He is the longest serving Wisconsin Governor. In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed Thompson as the Secretary of Health and Human Services, a position he held until 2005. He has since held positions in the private sector and served on numerous boards of directors. Thompson began his career by serving in the Wisconsin Assembly after graduating from law school. His most recent public service position was as the interim president of the University of Wisconsin System.Please join LIR as Thompson talks about this lifetime of service.
