As of Aug. 14, the University Police (UP) office will take up temporary residence in Room 207 of Reeve Memorial Union, while the University Police building undergoes maintenance.

Staff is scheduled to return to the building and resume normal operations on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

As a result of the move, some services will be limited; however, the UP telephone numbers, 1212 and 1216, still will be active. The campus community is asked to keep non-emergency calls to a minimum, as the trunking phone line system, which normally allows multiple callers to access UP’s various numbers, will not be functioning.

If callers with an emergency get a busy signal when calling either of the UP numbers, they should hang up and dial 9-911 from a campus phone or 911 on a cellular phone. The Winnebago County 911 Center will dispatch University officers to assist as well as any other necessary responders.

During the relocation period, all panic and intrusion alarm systems at the University will be monitored at a secondary location off campus. Although UP will be unable to monitor fire alarm status from Reeve, all fire alarm systems will remain fully functional within the individual buildings. If a fire alarm is activated on campus, call1212 to inform UP.

Additionally, e-mail response from the UP office and officers might be delayed.
