The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh gymnastics team won the WIAC championship Saturday at the Kolf Sports Center, setting three program records and tying another in the process. UW Oshkosh has now won the last three WIAC championships and 17 in the program’s history.

Peak performance: The Titans finished the meet with a season-high 193.100 points, also the second-highest team score in program history—behind only the 194.100 put up at last year’s NCGA Championship. They earned a 48.575 on the vault, a 47.175 on the uneven parallel bars, a 48.825 on the balance beam and a 48.525 on the floor exercise. Their vault score topped the previous program record of 48.725 and they set the vault record for the second time this season, topping their score of 48.450 points in their Jan. 21 home meet against Gustavus Adolphus College.

Up next: Saturday’s conference meet also served as the West Region qualifier for the NCGA Championship, held March 25 at Winona State University in Minnesota. The top three teams from the WIAC Championship—UWO, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout—along with several qualified gymnasts, advanced to the NCGA meet.
