As summer approaches, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Alumni Relations has planned a variety of fun trips and activities to keep alumni connected.

“We look forward to offering UWO alumni some enjoyable opportunities to network and show their Titan pride this summer,” UWO Alumni Director Christine Gantner said.

Summer events include outings throughout the Fox Valley, travel across the U.S. and cruises around the world.

Kick off summer with an alumni reception in Wisconsin Dells.  The reception will be held at Monk’s Bar and Grill at the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on June 4.  Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided, along with a cash bar and UWO promotional items.

After a long winter, there’s no better way to cure cabin fever than to get out into the world on a Baltic treasures cruise.  Aboard the Nautica, alumni will get the chance to travel to legendary ports along the Baltic Sea.  The cruise will set off June 8 from Copenhagen, Denmark, and dock in Stockholm, Sweden, after a week and a half of exploring the historically rich cultures of the Baltic.

If world travel is a bit too lavish for some, alumni can join Titan football coach, Pat Cerroni MS ’05, and members of the Titan Touchdown Club for a day of golf and leisure at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne on June 10.  Included with the registration are 18 holes of golf with a power cart, a boxed lunch delivered to the course, free beverages on the course, a banquet-style dinner, a raffle and auction and a free Titan gift bag.

Head to the ballpark on July 14 for the UW Oshkosh Alumni Night at the Timber Rattlers stadium from 5:30 to 9 p.m.  The event will start with an unlimited picnic buffet at 5:30 p.m., followed by the game at 7:05 p.m.  Alumni are encouraged to bring family and friends for a good, old-fashioned ball game.

Another family event to look forward to this summer is the Wild West and Yellowstone Family Adventure, Aug. 4-11, which takes alumni to Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Parks.  From there, participants will take a ferry across Jenny Lake, hike to the waterfall at Inspiration Point and raft down the white waters of the Snake River.  Alumni will also get the opportunity to travel back in time to the Wild West.  Spending four nights in Jackson, Wyo., alumni can experience an authentic rodeo, barbeque and “shoot-out.”

If the Western frontier isn’t enough, alumni can take part in an Alaskan frontier and glaciers cruise Aug. 4-14.  The voyage will begin and end in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Highlights of the cruise include sailing through the Inside Passage to Icy Strait Point and along Hubbard Glacier.

As summer comes to a close, alumni can travel back home to Oshkosh for an alumni night at Waterfest.  The festival takes place for 12 consecutive Thursdays from June 9 through August 25 at the Leach Amphitheater in Riverside Park.  The UW Oshkosh Alumni Night at Waterfest will take place on Aug. 4, with the BoDeans scheduled to perform.  Alumni can look to catch up with fellow classmates in the gazebo.

Whether UWO alumni plan to spend their summer with family and friends at home, or seek a more adventurous vacation, UW Oshkosh has it covered with exciting opportunities to have fun and stay involved with the University community.

Preregistration is required for UW Oshkosh alumni events. To preregister or to learn more about additional upcoming events, including professional development opportunities like the alumni career webinar “Polishing Your Resume” 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1, visit the alumni events calendar.
