This day in UW Oshkosh history – Jan. 9, 1941: The student council proposal to lower the grade point average requirements of the prom king by the next school year is defeated 8-4. If it had passed, the grade point minimum requirement would have dropped from one point per semester to a straight one point average – the same as required for graduation.
