The 15th Annual Playwriting contest deadline has been extended from March 8 until April 1, 2013. One-act, student-written plays in theatrical script format (23 to 45 pages) are due in the Fredric March Theatre, office room 103  by April 1.

Kevin Heyer, then a senior and Radio TV Film major,  won the 14th annual student playwriting contest in spring 2012 with his script, “Whack-a-Mole.”

Heyer, of Wausau,  discovered screenwriting at 13 and finished his first screenplay at the age of 14. He had completed eight screenplays, four short film scripts and two television pilots by the time of his UW Oshkosh playwriting contest win.

Heyer’s short film script “Cinema Verite” won a National Broadcasting Society Grand Prize for the Dramatic Script Category. “Whack-a-Mole” was chosen in the 2012 UW Oshkosh contest from among 15 submitted entries.
