Recognizing the vital collaborations between the business community and the University, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation will honor an area leader, business or organization at its fifth-annual celebration of collaboration on Oct. 8, 2010.

Nominations are being accepted for the Collaboration in Action Leadership Award, which acknowledges a leader in the New North whose efforts have impacted educational, cultural and economic changes throughout the region.

The Collaboration in Action Leadership Award will be presented during the Foundation Report to the Community, 7:30-9 a.m. Oct. 8 in the MAC Gym in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The breakfast meeting is designed for area business and community leaders to gather and learn how the UW Oshkosh Foundation serves the community and region.

New North is a consortium of business, chambers of commerce, civic, economic development, educational, nonprofit and workforce development leaders in 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin. Its vision is to be nationally and globally competitive for advancing job growth while maintaining a superior quality of life for the region’s citizens.
