The Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center is offering a five-day mediator skills training June 15 through 19.

This five day workshop–held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.– each day is for people interested in learning the techniques and the process of problem solving through mediation. The training is especially valuable to business people, attorneys and other individuals who deal with client, employee and/or family conflicts on a day-to-day basis. The training is also required for people wanting to become volunteer mediators with the Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center.

Presenters include Michael D. Rust, J.D., executive director of the Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center, Inc., and Kristy Bradish, retired executive director and volunteer mediator with the Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center, Inc. who is also a past recipient of the UW Oshkosh Chancellor’s Medallion.

Rust is an experienced mediator and trainer of mediators. He has trained hundreds of mediators throughout Wisconsin and around the United States. Rust is a mediator for the Eastern and Western District of Wisconsin Bankruptcy Courts. He is the President of the Wisconsin Association of Mediators and Chair-Elect of the Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Bradish has trained mediators for more than 20 years and has been recognized with the Wisconsin Association of Mediators’ President’s Award. She is a mediator for the Wis. Dept. of Public Instruction, the United States Postal Service, the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bankruptcy Court, and is a Past President of the Wisconsin Association of Mediators.

The Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center is a nonprofit community mediation organization, which has been training people to mediate disputes since 1990 for court-related work in civil cases and in community and worksite disputes.

This training is especially valuable to business people, attorneys and other individuals who deal with client, employee and/or family conflicts on a day-to-day basis. This training is also required for people wanting to become volunteer mediators with the Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center.

The training will be held at the Winnebago County Conflict Resoltion Center, 415 Jackson St., Oshkosh. The cost is $775 for professionals or $100 for volunteers.
