University of Wisconsin Oshkosh students considering studying abroad or away should attend the 2016 Spring Study Abroad Fairs, which will be held in the Reeve Memorial Union concourse Feb. 8-9 and Feb. 11-12.

The Study Abroad Fairs are put on by the UW Oshkosh Office of International Education (OIE). Each year, UW Oshkosh offers more than 80 programs for students to study abroad for a year, semester, interim or even a week-long course.

Each fair day will have a particular focus, as follows:

  • Monday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:  OIE staff and Financial Aid representatives will be present
  • Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.:  College of Business programs will be featured
  • Thursday, Feb. 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:  College of Letters and Science, Quest III and College of Education and Human Services programs will be featured
  • Friday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:  College of Letters and Science and College of Nursing programs will be featured

“The Study Abroad Fair is the one event where all study abroad and away opportunities and related resources available at UW Oshkosh are represented including faculty leaders, OIE staff, former study abroad/away students and international exchange students. This year’s mini fair is a smaller, more focused event that will be a great place for students to start thinking about studying abroad or actually decide on a particular program or experience that best fits their academic needs and personal goals, ” Mary Reinke, travel program manager at UW Oshkosh, said.

Reinke said the Study Abroad Fair days offer a fun, casual atmosphere for students to begin thinking about and planning for studying abroad.

At the events, students can enjoy a free hot chocolate (while it lasts) and enter a drawing for great prizes, including a waiver of the study abroad application fee, a $200 value.

For those who cannot attend the fair, the OIE is located in Dempsey Hall, room 202 . For more information, email oie@uwosh.edu, or call (920) 424 0775.
