Chancellor Leavitt shared the following budget update with campus on Tuesday, April 19:

Campus Community,

Today I share an important update with you regarding the impact recent state budget reductions have had on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus. You may be aware that a recent University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents meeting took place and, at the request of UW System President Ray Cross, each UW chancellor was asked to provide a brief summary of the impact our campuses have felt from the $250 million in state budget reduction from the last biennium.

I assure you the impact at UW Oshkosh is real and we are a long way from completely managing our budget situation. With that, I remain committed to minimizing the impact on students and affording them an optimal path to graduation. I believe our campus is taking a proactive approach to these changes and evaluating how we function as an institution to find innovative ways to respond to the challenges in front of us. The summary provided to the Board of Regents is linked below so you can see not only the impact this budget reduction has had, but also strategies we’ve employed to manage it.

Thank you for your continued support of UW Oshkosh,
Chancellor Andy Leavitt
