Joshua Garrison - 2016Joshua Garrison, associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, will give the afternoon commencement address May 14.

The commencement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at UW Oshkosh’s Kolf Sports Center.

Garrison teaches the history and philosophy of education and multicultural education. His research interests include the history of childhood, the portrayal of youth in past and contemporary media and critical theory.

Garrison has presented his work at more than two-dozen national and international conferences and was the recipient of the 2008 Article of the Year Award from the American Educational History Journal.

He is an active member of the campus community and takes pride in serving the University in numerous capacities.

Garrison earned a bachelor’s degree in history and philosophy at Evergreen State College and a master’s and doctorate in the history of education from Indiana University.
