Faculty and staff who are interested in Second Life and other new immersive educational programs are invited to join the Second Life User’s Group (SLUG) listserv at http://lists.uwosh.edu/mailman/listinfo/slug.

In addition, informational meetings about Second Life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the fourth Friday of each month in the IDEA lab, located in Polk Library 7 across from Testing Services.

The first hour will feature an educational event, such as learning how to manage your inventory, the opportunites of other immersive environments (such as Croquet and Wonderland), or an example of a field trip. The second hour will provide time to explore Second Life, ask questions, share ideas and look at what is happening in Second Life at UW Oshkosh.

Second Life, developed by Linden Research, Inc., is a 3-D virtual world created by its users. Since Second Life launched to the public in 2003, it has grown to connect millions of citizens, businesses and organizations around the globe.
