Research_UWOT_sizeUniversity of Wisconsin Oshkosh students were honored in April at the 2017 Celebration of Scholarship and Creative Activity.

The following psychology students received the Outstanding Graduate Research and Creative Activity Award: Danica Kulibert, of Fond du Lac; and Caileigh Zimmerman, of Greenfield.

The following students received the Outstanding Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Award: senior chemistry major Amanda Leichtfuss, of Eldorado; senior geology major Maxwel Schwid, of Sussex; senior biology major Kong Choua Thao, of Milwaukee; and senior piano performance major Sarah Williams, of Appleton.

The Clow Social Science Undergraduate Award was given to urban studies major Gerald Bufford, of Milwaukee; and junior psychology major Markus Oechsner, of Hartford.

In addition, winners of the WiSys Quick Pitch competition were announced:

  • In social sciences and humanities, Bufford took first place; and freshman history and philosophy major Madeline Hass, of Neenah, took second.
  • In science and technology, senior environmental studies major Kasey Stewart, of Eden, placed first; and biology graduate student Michelle Sonsalla, of Barabook, placed second.
