Patricia Adkins, who works for Document Services as a printing technician at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, has been named the recipient of the September 2017 STAR Award.

She was nominated by Merlaine Angwall, professor and department chair for the Theatre Department.

Adkins’s nomination follows:

“Over the years, Ms. Adkins has provided excellent service to the Theatre Department, which has numerous printing projects throughout the year. Pattie completes each of our projects in a timely fashion, without mistakes. In addition, Pattie offers cost effective solutions to our publishing needs, ranging from selection of materials to formatting of artwork.”

John Zarbano also added: “We, in the theatre department think that Pattie goes “above and beyond” each time she does a project for us. In the past she has taken extra time to help us. Our department’s big mailing each year is our Theatre Season brochures. Our season brochure combines University Marketing and Communications artwork with Document Services materials.”

“For last year’s season, Pattie suggested that we use a certain type of printing stock for the mailing. Pattie had some of this material left over from another project and since the amount of it would not easily fit into another project she offered to use it for our mailing. She saved money for both the University and us. Also, from this brochure mailing, Assistant Chancellor Jamie Ceman, told us that she had received compliments about the quality of our brochure from alumni. These compliments are due, in no small part to Pattie’s efforts. This year we had two rush projects at the beginning of the semester and Pattie offered solutions and finished the projects without delay. Pattie is most deserving of this award.”

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
