The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh football coaching staff and student-athletes assisted Vietnam-era war veterans onto the Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. from the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture on July 27 and again when they returned to Whitman Regional Airport later than evening.

Approximately 100 veterans from the region took the day-long tour of D.C. memorials before returning to Oshkosh.

It was the ninth year the Titan football team helped escort veterans. Players and staff started their day at 4 a.m. and returned at 6:30 p.m., when the flight returned to Boeing Plaza and thousands of well-wishers.

This was the Titans first community service of their 2018-2019 season. They closed out the 2017-2018 academic year volunteering a record-high 1,009 hours in and around the Fox Valley…the second consecutive year they broke the 1,000-hour plateau. The athletics department as a whole volunteered 4,125 hours last year.
