Jerry Bloesl, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumnus and former Reeve Memorial Union staff member, died Saturday Nov. 17, 2018, at his home.

Bloesl was employed at UW Oshkosh in Reeve Union as the coordinator of student activities from 1978 until 2008. His primary duties involved advising many of the committees of Reeve Union Board (RUB). He was known for his distinct personality and his commitment to students. Almost all who worked with Bloesl have “Jerry stories” to share when they come back to campus and visit Reeve Union.

Because of Bloesl’s longevity and impact, RUB awards The Jerry Bloesl Leadership Award annually, as the highest honor of the organization. Members who receive the award are recognized for dedication to the organization, serve as a role model to others and are leaders within the organization.
