UW-Fond du Lac students Cassady Corrigan and Amy Scherg have been nominated to compete for the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship at their regional festival next January.

They were selected as the result of their performances in the UW-Fond du Lac Theater Department’s recent production of “My Soldiers” by Richard Kalinoski.

The Irene Ryan Scholarships provide recognition, honor and financial assistance to outstanding student performers wishing to pursue further education. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Irene Ryan who is best remembered for her portrayal of the lovable and feisty “Granny” in “The Beverly Hillbillies.” The Irene Ryan Foundation awards 19 regional awards and two fellowships annually.
