The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac is offering a free educational form on the topic of crisis communications during Breakfast at the University, 7:30-9 am on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the LGI room, 400 University Dr.

This is the first in a series of forums for area business professionals on current topics of interest. It offers participants an opportunity for professional development and networking. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served to those pre-registered. Future Breakfast at the University forums will focus on topics suggested by participants at this first event.

“Crisis Communications: What to do when ‘it’ hits the fan” is the focus of the Oct. 25 forum. The presenter is Lisa Cruz, president of Red Shoes PR in Appleton. Cruz has 17 years of experience in communications, specifically public relations in areas such as crisis communications, social media, internal communications and traditional media relations. Her background includes working for a number of industries including health care, financial, construction, entertainment, fitness and public affairs.

In this presentation, participants will learn how to prepare for the unexpected, how to think through all of the communication channels (social media and traditional media), and about the importance of communications timing.

The forum is free, but pre-registration is requested for the breakfast. Participants should register online or call (920) 929-1155.
