The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac has named Valerie Graczyk interim director of continuing education.

Graczyk is founder and co-owner of Someday Travel Company and has been serving as the director of communication for the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes. She was previously director of continuing education at UW-Sheboygan. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in public relations/journalism from UW -Madison and a master’s degree in adult education administration from UW-Milwaukee.

She began her duties at UW-Fond du Lac on Aug. 6 and during her first week on the job accompanied a group of students and instructor Trish Strohfeldt to Key Largo, Florida, for the Biology of the Florida Keys Marine Environment course. Students in the course spent five days focusing on the ecology of the Keys and the southern Florida ecosystem.

“Valerie brings a valuable entrepreneurial spirit and professional experience to our campus,” said John Short, UW-Fond du Lac dean and chief executive officer. “UW-Fond du Lac will continue to develop and be a leader in continuing education programming in the area.”

Graczyk will serve as interim director until a formal search for the position is completed.
