UW-Fond du Lac student Megan Wetherbee has been chosen as a UW Colleges nominee for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education program.

Wetherbee is majoring in biology/pre-med at UW-Fond du Lac as a Madison Connections student. Those students in the Madison Connections program have been accepted as a UW-Madison student, but take the first two years of their college courses at a partner school like UW-Fond du Lac. During their first two years, they have dual enrollment in both schools.

This scholarship program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Sen. Barry M. Goldwater, who served 30 years in the U.S. Senate. It awards a scholarship to college students who intend to pursue careers in the fields of science, math and engineering.
