As previously announced by Chancellor Richard H. Wells, UW Oshkosh has the unprecedented opportunity to host the Seventh Annual New North, Inc. Economic Summit on Friday, Dec. 3.

The summit will bring upwards of 1,000 business executives, community leaders and elected officials from throughout Northeastern Wisconsin to our campus. To accommodate these guests and the campus community, a parking and transportation plan has been developed for.

Parking lots 7, 7a, 13, 15 and the commuter portion of lot 35 are reserved for New North Summit guests, and parking attendants will be welcoming guests to the entrances of these lots. The attendants also will be directing everyone else to other appropriate parking lots.

With the exception of lots 4, 4a, and the lots listed above, there will be open parking on campus on Dec. 3. The campus community may park in any legal parking stall in lots 5, 5a, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30, 33, 34, and the High Avenue parking ramp. The parking lot at the former Lincoln School on Wisconsin Avenue will also be available.

Vehicles parked in reserved spaces, fire lanes and aisles or disabled stalls without a valid permit issued by the State of Wisconsin will be ticketed an towed.

Parking is available at the Campus Services Building, lot 39, Fox Valley Technical College and at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

A 48-passenger shuttle bus will continuously loop between these locations and three drop off points on campus from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, a 13-passenger bus will make the same circuit, all day long from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The shuttle buses will pick up passengers by the street.

A map of available parking and transportation options for the campus community can be found by visiting www.uwosh.edu/home/new-north-parking. The map also denotes the pickup and drop off points for shuttle buses.

The campus pick-up and drop-off points include the following:

  • Front of Albee Hall (#3 on map)
  • Intersection of Algoma Blvd. and Woodland Avenue (#4 on map)
  • Intersection of High Avenue and Osceola Street (#5 on map)

Another option is to use the Oshkosh Transit System, which is a free service to anyone with a Titan ID. Oshkosh Transit bus schedules and route maps are available at www.oshkoshtransit.com. Printed copies are available at Titan Central in Reeve Memorial Union or at Parking Services in Blackhawk Commons.
