There is more basketball in the future for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh men’s and women’s basketball teams as both Titan programs earned a berth into their respective 2019 NCAA Division III Championship.

UW Oshkosh is just one of 16 universities to have both its men’s and women’s basketball teams secure a spot in the postseason tournament.

The men’s basketball program earned one of the at-large bids into the 64-team tournament after winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship outright for the first time since 1977-1978 and posting an impressive 23-3 overall record in the regular season.

The 2018 national runner-up Titans are making their fourth-straight and ninth overall NCAA postseason appearance. They head west for their opening game, playing Lake Forest College on Friday, March 1 in Collegeville, Minn. Game time is still to be determined.

After missing out on a bid to the tournament a season ago, the women’s basketball team left no doubt this year, earning the automatic bid by virtue of winning the WIAC Championship on Sunday.

The Titans are hosting the opening two rounds of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball  Championship for the second time in three years and fourth since 2014. They begin their 15th appearance in the postseason hosting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday, March 1 in Kolf Sports Center. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices for the women’s basketball game are $9 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for students (3-18) or with a valid college ID. Two and under are free.
