Basketball won a national championship, now it’s gymnastics’ turn.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will host the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, in Kolf Sports Center. The Titans will be one of six teams competing for the national title.

Along with UWO, the NCGA Championship features five of the other top Division III women’s teams in the country and at-large individual qualifiers, all convening to Oshkosh to determine national team and individual champions.

UW Oshkosh, the 1989 and 2007 national champions, will be making its 16th NCGA Championship appearance and first since 2014.

UWO has three returning competitors who represented the Titans at past national championships:

  • Junior Baylee Tkaczuk, NCGA Balance Beam All American (2018) and 2X NCGA National Uneven Bar Champion (2017, 2018)
  • Junior Jessica Bernardo, NCGA All Around All American (2nd Place, 2017)
  • Senior Bailey Finin, NCGA National Qualifier (2017)
UWO newcomers to look for at the national championship:
  • Freshman Kaira Hammond currently ranked No. 2 in the country on balance beam
  • Freshman Olivia Keller currently ranked  No. 4 in the country on balance beam
  • Freshman Emily Gilot currently ranked No. 7 in the country on vault

Tickets will be available for purchase in person from 8;30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at Kolf Sports Center. Tickets will be available and doors will open at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Prices are adult, $10; seniors, $8, children 3-18 and college students with ID, $6; children 2 and younger, free. Group tickets also are available. For more information on group tickets, contact Victoria Stimac at (920) 424-1384 or stimacv@uwosh.edu.

Students on the Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Fox Valley campuses can get a free ticket to the event. The free tickets will be available for pickup beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, from the UW Oshkosh Athletics Office in Kolf Sports Center. Students must present a valid student ID in order to receive a ticket (one ticket per student).

The first 200 spectators will receive a free NCGA wrist strap key holder courtesy of University Books & More.

The championship also will be broadcast through flogymnastics.com. A subscription is required.
