The Fox Cities Chamber awarded Kate Manthey, director of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Insurance and Risk Program, an Excellence in Education Shining Star Award Jan. 29.

Manthey was surprised with the recognition in Sage Hall for her outstanding commitment to student success and the advancement of knowledge in higher education.

The honor includes a star award and $500 cash as well as an invitation to attend the culminating event for the awards program on March 5, at the Red Lion Hotel in downtown Appleton.
