Each year, student scholarships and University events and projects are funded with proceeds from a themed fundraising dinner at the Fond du Lac campus of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

The eighth annual Corks & Forks event takes place at 5 p.m. March 26 in the University Center Commons of the Fond du Lac campus, 400 University Drive, Fond du Lac.

This year’s event will feature Irish decor and cuisine, speakers, musicians, caricature artist, auction and raffle. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the program and auction start at 7 p.m. Casual green attire is strongly encouraged!

Last year’s Corks & Forks event boasted an island theme.

A Spirit of Excellence Award will be presented to a community member who is a friend and supporter of the University—someone who is dedicated to the UWO-Fond du Lac Foundation and the greater UWO Fond du Lac campus and surrounding community.

Each year, the event has raised about $30,000, primarily for scholarships, but also to help fund professional development for faculty and to continue the work of the foundation. The foundation awarded more than $50,000 in student scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year.

“Our mission is to promote excellence while enhancing the educational and cultural opportunities on campus,” UWO-Fond du Lac Foundation Executive Director Barb Senn said. “Corks & Forks gives community members an opportunity to join the campus community in supporting the work of the foundation that directly impacts all of us.”

Deadline for reservations is March 17.
