The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will host Virtual Homecoming 2020 on Oct. 24, with student-specific events beginning Oct. 18.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic changing the course of what is always a special in-person weekend for alumni, students and their families, UW Oshkosh has put together a fun virtual schedule and is continuing its student-focused events—just virtually.

“Although we all wish we could be together in person celebrating our Titan pride on Homecoming, we have a fun lineup of virtual activities to help you stay connected to your alma mater,” director of alumni relations Chris Gantner said. “So, put on your favorite Titan sweatshirt or your back and gold and join us for our first virtual Homecoming celebration. Don’t miss this chance to catch up on all things UWO and share your Titan pride.”

The student theme of Homecoming is “Cities Around the World 2020.” Its annual window painting and office, house and hall decorating events will be tailored around this theme. Students also will be able to participate in a talent show and lip sync/music video competition by prerecording their submissions. Other fun events the week of Homecoming include virtual trivia, a virtual comedian and Minute to Win It games played on the RecPlex with safety protocols in place.

Homecoming day will showcase three virtual events: A Town Hall with Chancellor Andrew Leavitt, Titan Trivia and Historic Tour with UWO archivist Joshua Ranger and a Titan Sports Hour with Assistant Chancellor and Director of Athletics Darryl Sims and a few Titan coaches.

All Titans are encouraged to wear their Titan gear on Homecoming day and tag the official university and university alumni social media accounts with pictures showcasing their Titan pride.
