Representatives from Walmart, a company that employs 2.1 million associates worldwide, has partnered with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Career Services and will jointly host a new networking event benefiting women and students of color.

On Feb. 3, Walmart donated $2,000 to Career Services for the professional skills program, which is to host a networking program in early April. UW Oshkosh students will benefit from the event as they work to develop their branding, interviewing, negotiating and networking skills.

“Walmart is excited to connect with upcoming talent at UW Oshkosh,” said Jodi Carlson, career advisor for the College of Business and College of Nursing at UW Oshkosh. “We look forward to a continued partnership with Walmart in the future as they provide full-time, part-time and internship opportunities for our students and alumni.”

Carlson and Career Services Director Jaime Page-Stadler were presented the donation by Walmart’s Market Manager Scott Baus and Manager Carlos Rodriquez.

Career Services at UW Oshkosh submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
