A celebration of the life of Patricia “Pat” Goetz, who in 2015 became the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s oldest graduate, will take place today on the UW Oshkosh campus.

Goetz, 85, died Feb. 14.

With a passion for writing, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English in 2015 at the age of 80.

The memorial event is set from 4 to 6 p.m. today (Friday, Feb. 26) at the Pollock House, 765 Algoma Blvd.

An open house will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Visitors may come and go as they wish, sign a guest book, meet Goetz’s family and see photographs.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., UWO faculty will say a few words about her and read from the writing she revised and submitted for coursework.

Safety guidelines will be followed. Mask are required and social distancing will be keep visitors spaced. The maximum number of people in the Pollock House will be 20 at a time.
